In Audacity is the Effect “Truncate Silence…” It can be used to remove a definable amount of the inter-phrase deadspace that lengthens nearly all voice tracks by 30% or more. It ‘speed things up’ so listeners don’t have to later “Alvinate” at 1.5, 1.75. 2x – or, if they do anyway, you will have given them 30% more voice per unit time. Here is, IMHO, an excellent example of its use. Note that comments do not slam for being hard to understand but rather note the high density of information.
